Just got back from Jakarta last night. Spent the entire CNY
there.
I haven't been to Indonesia in a while, and dealing with their
currency, I have a newfound
sense of empathy with sufferers of zero stroke
condition.
My empathy does not extend to their smoking habits, and I find
their penchance for chain-smoking in airconditioned malls full of
flammable materials extremely disturbing.
This was especially more so in one of their malls where they
sold all manner of religious items like prayer mats and shawls. So
many of the stallholders were smoking that I was wheezing and
choking from all that smoke. The anti-smoking signs apparently
existed just to be mocked at. So much for being religious.
Well, they are notorious for being a smoker country...
Didn't sometime back there was outcry becoz of smoking
toddlers???
